A Gluten-Free Olive Branch

Giveaway update: I have had a sudden surge in comments beyond my usual people. This is GREAT! But since I can’t see all your Facebook pages, could you please just leave another comment if you share the post on Facebook (or twitter) so I can make sure everyone has the right number of entries? Thanks so much!

I have so many friends who are living gluten-free lives. I always feel a little twinge of guilt when I publish recipes that contain flour (which is pretty much every recipe) because I know that some of my regular (ie: favorite) readers are home crying into their gluten-free crispix, disappointed that they will not be able to eat the deliciousness that comes out of my kitchen.

So to make it up to you, I have located a recipe for donuts and a recipe for BIEGNETS that are completely gluten-free.

Yes, these recipes are more labor-intensive than my canned biscuit donuts or my easy-peasy beignets, but I bet they will be really tasty.

To sweeten my apology, I am going to offer one of my readers a 5-pound bag of Jules’ all-purpose flour. Just leave a comment here for one entry and get another entry by reposting on Facebook. I’ll draw a name on Tuesday.

It’s not Fat Tuesday, but you’ll be stuffing your face with beignets like it is.

    Hey!
Love biegnets and love using gluten free flour!

  31. You are a splendid friend. So very few gluten eaters think of us at all, except for when they are curious, grilling us with questions while we eat. It means so much when someone makes the effort to include us in the celebration & nurturing of food. Both recipes look fantastic and winning the flour to give beignets a try would be splendid. Thank you so much for the surprise invitation today of enjoying a culinary treat.

  36. I have to add that Jule’s Gluten Free is THE absolute best flour ever! It has made it possible to almost feel un gluten free, simply by the taste. So many other GF items have an aftertaste or texture difference, but with Jule’s, I have made homemade flour tortillas again, french fried onions for a green bean casserole and totally changed our everyday cooking and holidays! It’s worth every penny and she’s got customers for life!!!

  37. Stacy says:
