A Gluten-Free Olive Branch

Giveaway update: I have had a sudden surge in comments beyond my usual people. This is GREAT! But since I can’t see all your Facebook pages, could you please just leave another comment if you share the post on Facebook (or twitter) so I can make sure everyone has the right number of entries? Thanks so much!

I have so many friends who are living gluten-free lives. I always feel a little twinge of guilt when I publish recipes that contain flour (which is pretty much every recipe) because I know that some of my regular (ie: favorite) readers are home crying into their gluten-free crispix,Β disappointed that they will not be able to eat the deliciousness that comes out of my kitchen.

So to make it up to you, I have located a recipe for donuts and a recipe for BIEGNETS that are completely gluten-free.

Yes, these recipes are more labor-intensive than my canned biscuit donuts or my easy-peasy beignets, but I bet they will be really tasty.

To sweeten my apology, I am going to offer one of my readers a 5-pound bag of Jules’ all-purpose flour. Just leave a comment here for one entry and get another entry by reposting on Facebook. I’ll draw a name on Tuesday.

It’s not Fat Tuesday, but you’ll be stuffing your face with beignets like it is.

  1. Could be my (very biased) imagination- – – – -but does anyone else see a “Halo” around Charlotte in this picture???

  2. Jenn, I am so super excited!!! I’ve not tried Jules’ All Purpose GF flour but I hope I win this so i get to!! It is not easy baking gluten free. But my Cinnamon Chex GF are pretty yummy! πŸ™‚
    Thanks for the recipes too.

  3. Yum! With pregnancy cravings in full swing, I’m really missing some of my old gluteny favorites. Incidentally, both recipe links above direct to the biegnets recipe.

  4. Jules herself has linked us to your blog which is why I’m here! We love her products and would love to win some more. Thank you for giving me a new blog to add to my reader πŸ™‚

  5. Oh apologies accepted!!! Biegnets have been on our list to make for our granddaughters ever since seeing Princess and the Frog… What a wonderful time this will be to make them all together! And being as I haven’t made homemade donuts since my husband was diagnosed with Celiac 5 years ago.. um, yes, I’ll be making those, too! :o) Thank you!!!
    Thank you!!!!!!!!!

  6. Would love to try beignets recipe using Jules’ flour. I already have some of Jules’ flour in my pantry, so if my name comes up, you can feel free to pick another lucky winner! Thanks for the recipe though and for considering your gluten-free blog visitors!

  7. it’s very kind of you to be open to gluten free recipes! making food fun is important when food allergies make it no fun. thanks! πŸ™‚

  8. I would love a chance to win this flour! I recently started cooking only gluten free when I discovered my four year old has a allergy to it. Thanks for the recipes too!

  9. Jules has so many delish recipes and I can’t wait to try the biegnet recipe above with a free sample! Thanks to “branching” out. πŸ™‚

  10. Would love to try the flour. GF flours are sooo expensive and I now am cooking for my Mom & Dad (Mom is ill & Dad has finely learned to re-heat in the microwave)

  11. Accepting your olive branch. Would love to win some flour to do some normal baking with. There are three of us at church that are gluten free and we can never eat anything during our fellowship time.

I will also share this on my facebook page πŸ™‚

  12. You are a splendid friend. So very few gluten eaters think of us at all, except for when they are curious, grilling us with questions while we eat. It means so much when someone makes the effort to include us in the celebration & nurturing of food. Both recipes look fantastic and winning the flour to give beignets a try would be splendid. Thank you so much for the surprise invitation today of enjoying a culinary treat.

  13. I have to add that Jule’s Gluten Free is THE absolute best flour ever! It has made it possible to almost feel un gluten free, simply by the taste. So many other GF items have an aftertaste or texture difference, but with Jule’s, I have made homemade flour tortillas again, french fried onions for a green bean casserole and totally changed our everyday cooking and holidays! It’s worth every penny and she’s got customers for life!!!

  14. Jules flour is the best! Thx for the olive branch and sharing. πŸ™‚ To anyone who is just starting out in the gluten free world they will be glad they stumbled upon Jules Gluten Free Flour, as they will benefit by learning so much from her – an abundance of gluten-free knowledge! πŸ™‚

  15. Thanks for the olive branch, much appreciated! And no worries on recipes, us GF’ers take great recipes & turn them into great GF recipes πŸ™‚ PS – Jules herself sent us this link from facebook; we’re all pretty excited!!

  16. I just posted above, but then saw your request for another post when posted to FB… so letting you know that I just re- posted your Gluten Free Olive Branch link to my FB page too!! Just found out “officially” that I am celiac a week ago… so here’s to hoping I win some GF flour to start off my new gf journey πŸ™‚ Thanks for the recipe links, too!
